Dr. Premkumar, State President installed the office bearers for the year 2003-04. Christmas message was delivered by Dr. Ravindranath, Hon. State Secretary.

GENERAL BODY MEETINGS

Eight General Body meetings were held in this IDA year.

CDE PROGRAMMES

I. CDE was held on 25th January, 2004. The faculty for the programme was Dr. Sangeeth. MDS. He delivered an elaborate lecture on �Oral Surgery in Children.�

II. CDE was held on 6th June, 2004. The faculty for the CDE programme was Dr. C.K. Asokan. MDS., Prof. & HOD, Dept. of Periodontics, Amrita College of Dentistry, Cochin. He delivered an excellent lecture on �Oral Implantology for General Practitioners.�

III. CDE programme was held on 18th July, 2004. The faculty for the programme was Dr. A. Devadathan. MDS, Associate Prof. of Endodontics, Raja�s Dental College, Vadakkamkulam. He delivered a very informative lecture on Endodontics �Back to Basics.�

IV. CDE programme was held on 15th August, 2004. The faculty was Dr. Romy. MBBS. He delivered a very informative lecture on �Post Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV.�

NATIONAL ORAL HEALTH PROGRAMME

IDA Karunagappally Br. organized the inauguration of National Oral Health Programme on 16th June, 2004 at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kottamkulangara. The function was inaugurated by the school Principal Mr. D. Sasidharan. About 450 students were examined and had given dental health pack. The CDH representative of our branch Dr. Sabu Muhammed delivered vote of thanks.

TEACHER�S TRAINING PROGRAMME

The branch had conducted the Teacher�s Training Programme and Parents Education Programme at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kottamkulangara. Dr. Azad A.Q. took class on Oral Diseases and its mode of prevention. Dr. Suraj. K. Nair took class on oral Hygiene and brushing technique. The Charter President of IDA Karunagappally Dr. C. Chandra Mohan distributed training guides and certificate to all the teachers attended.

ORPHANAGE ADOPTION PROGRAMME

IDA Karunagappally branch had adopted the Anwarasseril Orphanage at Mynagappally on August 1st 2004. The function was inaugurated by the Block Panchayat President Mr. Rajendra Prasad. 77 inmates of the Orphanage were examined and had given treatment at Dr. Azad�s and Dr. Anoob�s Clinic, Karunagappally. We also donated Rs. 2,500/- to the Orphanage.

ORAL HYGIENE DAY CELEBRATION

IDA Karunagappally branch celebrated oral hygiene day on 1st August 2004 at Anwarasseril Orphanage, Mynagappally. The CDE Representative of our branch Dr. Laiji Thomas Tharakan had distributed free dental treatment cards to theinmates. Dr. Bijoy K. Sudakar, Dr. Azad A.Q, Dr. Sabu Muhammed, Dr. Lalu Basheer took classes on Oral Hygiene and Brushing Technique.

PROFESSIONAL PROTECTION SCHEME

Dr. Satheesh J.K.V., Sec. PPS, IDA, Kerala State spoke in detail about the rules and bye-laws of Professional Protection Scheme during the General Body Meeting of our branch on 6th June, 2004. He also cleared the doubts of our members regarding this scheme. 11 members had joined as founder members of this prestigious scheme of IDA, Kerala State. The PPS representative of our branch Dr. C. Chandra Mohan delivered vote of thanks.

FAMILY TRIP

The convener-Club Activities of our branch Dr. Jinu Mathew had arranged a one day family trip to Kumbaurutty, Near Punalur 22nd August, 2004. 16 families attended the trip. All the family members enjoyed the Water Falls at Kumbaurutty and Palaruvi.

FAMILY GET-TOGETHER

The family get together of IDA, Karunagappally was held on 12th September, 2004 at Green Channel Resorts, Alumkadavu, Karunagappally and celebrated Onam in a good manner. We have arranged an Orchestra and various entertainment programmes.
